Scripture
Psalm 150
1 Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty firmament!
2 Praise him for his mighty deeds;
praise him according to his surpassing greatness!
3 Praise him with trumpet sound;
praise him with lute and harp!
4 Praise him with tambourine and dance;
praise him with strings and pipe!
5 Praise him with clanging cymbals;
praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
6 Let everything that breathes praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!
Devotional
Psalm 150 concludes by calling all humanity at once to Praise The Lord! The book of Psalms literally concludes with a final Hallelujah! Praise is the climax. The Psalms began with an invitation to walk the road that leads to life and they end with an invitation to praise The Lord as the culmination of the journey. The Hebrew word for the title of the book of Psalms is Tehillim (תהילים), and it literally means Praises. The book of Psalms is a reminder to us that life is about praise. The Psalms were intended to be our prayer book and our hymn book for life’s journey. As the Psalmist closes his book I will close my writing, "Let everything that has breath praise The Lord!
